LEGENDS

Eligibility

Players who will turn 35 years old by midnight Dec. 31, 2022 can register and play in the Knight Soccer League over 35 Legends Division. Teams this season are able to register five players that turn 30 to 34 years old before midnight, Dec. 31, 2022 and play only three at any time in a match.

The KSL Legends in the 2023 season will ‘grandfather’ the 2022 players who were under 35 and if a team has less than three return from 2022, they can register a player or players that must turn 31 years old by Dec. 31, 2023 to bring their number of underage players up to three. New teams joining the Legends Div. in 2023 can register 3 players 31 to 34 and they must turn 31 by Dec. 31, 2023. Teams with more than three underage players ‘grandfathered’ from 2022 can only play three at any time in a match in 2023.

The KSL Legends in the 2024 season will ‘grandfather’ the 2023 players who were under 35 and if a team has less than three return from 2023, they can register a player or players that must turn 32 years old by Dec. 31, 2023 to bring their number of underage players up to three. New teams joining the Legends Div. in 2024 can register 3 players 32 to 34 and they must turn 32 by Dec. 31, 2023. Teams with more than three underage players ‘grandfathered’ from 2022 & 2023 can only play three at a time in a match in 2024.

The underage players will lose their ‘grandfathered’ status if they do not register in a KSL season. The yearly age increase for youngest underage players allowed will allow the KSL to match-up with the age specifications of the full member fall / winter leagues by 2024. The grandfathering of underage players should let you keep the players on your team in the KSL the next two seasons until they are the right age to register in your full member fall / winter league team.
